Short Sleeve Sweaters
Certain parts of the country lend themselves to a unique clothing item — short sleeve sweaters. When there’s a slight chill in the air but it is too warm for a coat, a short sleeve sweater is the perfect clothing item. Short sleeve sweaters are far more adaptable than long sleeve sweaters. There’s less restriction of your arm movement with a short sleeve sweater, and long sleeve sweater styles can sometimes be too hot for an early spring day.
Though short sleeve sweaters are more popular in women’s clothing, where they are sometimes called tunics or cardigans, both men and women can find short sleeve sweaters to fit that late-winter / early-spring weather pattern. Men’s clothing stores sometimes sell sweater vests, 3/4 sleeve sweaters, and even proper short sleeve sweaters, though they are easier to find in the women’s department.
A common sight in both men’s and women’s clothing departments is a t-shirt labelled “short sleeve sweater” because the t-shirt was made “sweater style”. I’m not sure what this means, and I don’t think the manufacturer does either. In reality, anything that looks like a t-shirt is probably just a t-shirt. The purpose of the short sleeve sweater is adaptability — you can wear it when it is slightly warm and also when it is slightly chilly.

When buying a short sleeve sweater, figure out what you’ll be using it for and how much you’re willing to spend. These are the two big deciding factors. If, on the other hand, you’re a guy and you’re looking for something that keeps your arms free while keeping you warm, go for a sweater vest style garment.
