19″ Flat Screen TV

Buying a flat screen TV for the living room or the movie room of your house is pretty easy — buy the biggest, baddest flat screen you can afford and stick it on the wall.

But buying a flat screen TV for another room in your house can be a real challenge. Especially difficult rooms are kitchens or other purpose-built rooms that offer little space for television viewing.

I know what you’re thinking — a TV in the kitchen? The fact is that plenty of families gather in the kitchen or enjoy being together while someone’s cooking, the kids are doing homework, etc. Knowing what size and what type of TV to buy for a room like this is just plain hard.

A 19″ flat screen TV is perfect for your kitchen, utility room, or other room that has less space for a television set but still requires a quality TV, for whatever reason. Gone are the days of the tiny “under-the-counter” TV that you pull out and plug in next to the microwave when you want to watch the news while you cook — with flat screen TVs, you can buy a slightly larger screen and fit it into the same space as a smaller traditional screen TV. In fact, it has become difficult to find a 15″ flat screen TV, once the traditional choice for kitchen televisions.

Where to Buy 19 Inch Flat Screen TVs

Here are a few place where you can buy 19 inch flat screen TVs.

19" Flat Screen TVI found this 19″ flat screen TV by Viore (with a 720p LCD) on Amazon.com for just $147.54. This is on the cheaper end of your 19″ flat screen TV options, partially because the brand name is not a high-end brand, and partially because it isn’t an HDTV and has slightly lower resolution than more expensive models.

At the other end of the price scale is this ViewSonic flat screen TV for about $270 — it has 1440×900 HDTV resolution, 5ms LCD panel and HDMI connectivity. In short, all the bells and whistles in a conveniently sized 19″ flat screen. The price difference between these two models is only about $120, meaning most people can spring for the fancy 19″ flat screen TV set rather than stick with the TV that’s best for their budget.

Aren’t therre “middle of the road” 19″ flat screen TVs? Of course. Here’s a Maganvox 19″ HD flat screen TV for just under $200. Magnavox brags about the 16:9 aspect ratio and beautiful look of this TV set, and at this price it would be my choice for a new kitchen TV set. You could also check out this Toshiba set which has the 19″ flat screen, 720p HDTV capability and a cool white case (to perfectly match your white kitchen) for around $200.

Let’s face it — 19″ flat screen TVs are the new 15″ televisions. The smaller 15″ size are increasingly hard to find, and with television body sizes decreasing constantly, even as the screens get bigger, you may as well buy the larger screen set. You’ll be happier with the better picture, and you won’t spend a dime more.
